Carrier Connect TMS
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026 · Version tms-v1.1-2026-10-30
This Privacy Policy explains how Carrier Connect Center LLC ("Carrier Connect," "we") collects, uses, shares and protects information in Carrier Connect TMS: the website and web app, the driver app, tracking links and the API (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
Our commitment
We do not sell, rent, trade or disclose your information or your drivers' information to third parties for their own use, marketing or advertising. We use it only to provide the Service to you, and it goes only where you send it or where section 4 explains.
1. Our role
The Service is used by carriers, brokers and shippers (our "Customers") to run their businesses. For information a Customer enters or collects about its own drivers, employees, contractors, customers and contacts, the Customer decides what is collected and why, and we process it on the Customer's behalf, only to provide the Service. If you are a driver or other person whose information a Customer manages in the Service, please contact that company first; we will help it respond to your request. For our Customers' own account and billing information, we are responsible for it as described here.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email, phone, company name, role, password (stored only as a secure hash) and two-step verification settings.
- Company information: legal name, address, USDOT and MC numbers, insurance information, and documents the company uploads.
- Driver information entered by the Customer: name, phone, email, commercial driver's license number, state, class and expiration dates, medical card and other compliance dates, pay type and rate, and documents such as license or medical card images.
- Location information: the driver's precise location (GPS), speed and accuracy, only while the driver has location sharing turned on in the driver app or a tracking link, normally while a load is in progress. Drivers can stop sharing at any time.
- Load and business records: loads, stops, customers, rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof-of-delivery photos, invoices, expenses and fuel receipts, driver pay, and signatures captured to sign documents.
- Documents that may contain tax numbers: if you upload forms such as a W-9, they may include a taxpayer identification number. We store them as files in private storage only for the purpose you uploaded them, and we do not ask for Social Security numbers in any form field.
- Integration credentials: keys or tokens for services you connect (for example QuickBooks Online or load boards), stored encrypted.
- Payment information: processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card or bank account numbers.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages used, dates and times, and error logs, used to run, secure and fix the Service.
- Communications: messages you send us and support requests.
Some of this information, such as driver's license numbers and precise location, is considered sensitive under certain state laws. We use it only to provide the Service as described in this policy, and never to profile, advertise to or make decisions about individuals.
3. How we use information
- to provide the Service: manage loads, documents, tracking, invoices, driver pay, reports and integrations;
- to show load status and location to the Customer and to the parties it shares a load with (for example, its broker or shipper);
- to calculate miles, ETAs and other reports requested by the Customer;
- to create and secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service running;
- to process payments and send service messages such as invitations, receipts, alerts and policy changes;
- to provide support and improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible; and
- to comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
4. How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own purposes, including marketing or cross-context behavioral advertising. Information leaves Carrier Connect only:
- Within the Customer's account and with parties the Customer chooses, such as its dispatchers, its broker or shipper on a load, or the recipient of a tracking link, rate confirmation or invoice;
- With service providers that host data, process payments, send email and text messages, provide maps and routes, or monitor errors, under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us;
- With integrations the Customer connects, such as QuickBooks Online or a load board, to the extent needed for that integration;
- For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Carrier Connect, our users or others; and
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
5. Location data
Location is collected only from the driver app or a tracking link, only after the driver turns sharing on, and it stops when the driver turns it off or the load is finished. Location points are used to show the load's progress, mark arrivals and departures, and calculate miles for the Customer's reports. The Customer is responsible for giving its drivers notice and getting any consent the law requires before tracking them.
6. How long we keep information
We keep information while the Customer's account is open and as long as needed for the purposes above, unless the Customer deletes it earlier. When the owner closes the account, all of its information is deleted automatically 30 days later (loads, drivers, locations, documents, files and the team's user accounts). The owner can keep the account open again before that date, and gets an email reminder 7 days before. Copies in our providers' automatic backups are overwritten within 90 days, and we keep only what the law requires us to keep. Deleted information can no longer be read.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption of integration credentials, private storage for documents, access controls by role, two-step verification and activity logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach of security affects personal information, we will give the notices required by law, including under the Florida Information Protection Act (section 501.171, Florida Statutes).
8. Your choices and rights
You can view and update most account information in the Service. You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or for a copy of it, by writing to admin@carrier-connectcom.com. If your information is managed by a Customer (for example, your employer), we will forward your request to that Customer. Depending on the state where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honor them where they apply. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, respond within 45 days, and not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can opt out of non-essential emails with the link in them, and drivers can stop location sharing at any time.
10. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Where information is stored
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States by us and our service providers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify Customers by email or in the Service before they take effect.
